Wombwell Town are still in the hunt for the NCEL Division One title after a 4-0 Barnsley derby win over Worsbrough Bridge.

Oliver Fearon bagged a brace with Cian Guest and Eddie Agnew also on target for Town who scored twice early in each half.

Karl Rose’s side are third, a point behind second-placed Wakefield and eight behind leaders Horbury Town with two games in hand. Wombwell have five games to play. There is one automatic promotion place and four play-off places.

Worsbrough are four points outside the play-off places in seventh. They have lost their last three games.

But their next two matches are against the bottom two as they visit relegated bottom club Yorkshire Amateur on Saturday then, a week later, go to second-bottom Appleby Frodingham. Their final match is at home to mid-table Armthorpe.

Dearne and District are fourth after winning 2-1 at home to Nostell MW.

After falling behind, Justin Circuit and Jamie Austin won it for Dearne who are six points clear in the play-off places.

Athersley Rec lost 4-3 South Leeds. They were 2-0 down at half-time then came back to 2-1, 3-2 and 4-3. The scorers were James Woodhouse, Finnlay Taylor and Carter Tingle.
