AN award-winning youngster has brought back her successful Christmas present collection this year and her family are hoping it will be ‘bigger and better’ than before.

Hollie Kyle, the 11-year-old winner of the Young Conqueror award at this year’s Young Champions, began her charitable endeavours last year, when she filled her house in Monk Bretton with so many toys it ‘resembled a branch of Smyths’ and donated them all to children spending Christmas day in Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

She was inspired by her own stint at the hospital, where at eight-and-a-half years old she received treatment for juvenile arthritis, a rare variation of the joint condition that mostly affects the elderly.

In the end, she managed to donate more than 300 presents to the hospital and her success saw her invited to the ITV show Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway back in February, where the television stars gifted her a seven-night, all-inclusive holiday or cruise of her choice.

Now, she’s bringing the collection back once more and on December 16 Hollie will head to the hospital to distribute more than 100 toys she’s already collected.

Her mother, Laura Kyle, told the Chronicle: “We’re hoping to do it bigger and better this year.

“We’ve got some money now to go shopping, so I think she’s most excited about that and getting to go out and see what she can get.

“We have had lots of help from Rebecca Hawkins who is another junior arthritis mum and too many individuals to mentions so we would like to thank them all.”
