BARNSLEY RUFC Ladies lost 33-31 at home to Kenilworth in the Championship One North on Sunday.
They collected bonus points for scoring four tries and for losing by fewer than seven points.
They are now eighth in the ten-team second tier in England with nine points from five games.
They are in action again at home on Saturday, against Sheffield who are second-bottom.
Barnsley’s men face a crucial game in Yorkshire Division Three on Saturday when they host Burley.
The Shaw Laners are second bottom, six points off safety, having lost the last five games. Burley are one of the sides six points above them.
Wortley lost 46-25 home to leaders Sheffield Medicals in Yorkshire Division Four. Jacob Barker, George Peacock and Dominic O’Connor scored tries with Luke Jagger adding two conversions and two penalties. They are now fourth the table with 15 points from six games.
Wath are due to visit Harrogate Pythons on Saturday in Yorkshire Division One, having been given a home walkover victory when bottom club Wensleydale pulled out.
