A MONK Bretton schoolgirl who was crowned Little Miss South Yorkshire competed in the national finals last weekend.

Ten-year-old Scarlett Maskill was handed the prestigious title earlier this year - but Saturday’s Little Miss Great Britain final was her first pageant.

She didn’t manage to pick up the crown but was awarded the prestigious ‘Little Miss Teen Beautifully Inspiring’ for all her hard work.

Her mum, Chantelle, told the Chronicle: “Scarlett thoroughly enjoyed her time at the finals.

“She made some forever friends from all over the UK.

“She had so much fun from the workshop, we’re they learnt everything possible.

“The event was on Saturday and although Scarlett didn’t receive the Little Miss Teen Great Britain title, she was awarded Little Miss Teen Beautifully Inspiring 2024.

“Representing South Yorkshire this time is just the start of Scarlett’s journey.

“Empowering, encouraging and helping support others this weekend has shown Scarlett how wonderful pageant land is.”
