THANK you to our supporters who attended both home games in the last week, both at 7.45pm on what are now cold nights.

Everyone on and off the field appreciates your backing from the stands.

Oliver Wilkinson has also linked up with England’s youth setup and even captained the side in their opening game, the Young Lions securing victory.

For Barnsley Football Club to have another England captain, alongside John Stones for the senior team earlier this year, makes us immensely proud as a club.

Before the international break we have two games, coincidentally against the same opposition, Huddersfield Town.

Saturday will be a great occasion, a lunchtime kick-off, live on Sky Sports against local rivals with a full away allocation sold out.

It is fantastic to see the Reds fans lead on the ‘Let’s create a sea of pink’ initiative in order to raise awareness for the start of Breast Cancer awareness month.

Therefore, we are delighted to present our third kit sponsor for the 24/25 campaign, Breast Cancer UK.

Thanks to the kindness of club partner, Rapid Response Telecoms, the charity will be on the front of our pink kit, starting this weekend at Huddersfield.

Members of our Reds coaching staff are also taking part in the ‘Prostate United’ challenge during October, running 10 kilometres every day to raise money for a very important cause.

The link to donate is online if you wish to do so.

I’d like to congratulate our community trust for their recognition in the Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce 2024 Business Awards, for the ‘Charity of the Year’ category.

I am extremely proud to be on the excellent Board of Trustees for the Trust, who have seen significant increases in engagement figures during last season.

The social value of the vital work has increased in the past season from £2.25 million to £7.75 million – the biggest percentage growth in the EFL.

I’d like to congratulate head of foundation, Kieron Campbell, along with the dedicated staff at the Community Trust for this fantastic achievement.

As a club and a board, we have a firm commitment to our community and this independent valuation confirms that action.

We recently held the latest OAP luncheon, which saw over 150 attendees come to Oakwell for their lunch, hosted by club legend Barry Murphy.

It’s a fantastic event and we look forward to hosting our next one on October 31.

Thank you for your support.
