TWO promising youngsters from Micky’s Athletic Boxing Club gained more experience by taking part in skills contests on Tuesday evening.
Starlets Louie Kerry and Mikey Wale were in action on the club’s home show at the Metrodome.
Louie adapted well to a late opponent change and boxed with a controlled amount of aggression.
Wale, son of former British champion Josh, took on his first ever southpaw in Sedbergh’s Joe Jordan.
The youngster fathomed a right handed shot would be the most productive and landed it strongly in a disciplined display.
Kiegan Platter, also from Micky’s, lost out on a unanimous decision to Derby City’s Christrian Trifan.
