BARNSLEY Foodbank Partnership is urging residents to support them in the build up to an expected ‘incredibly busy winter period’.
Bosses admit they’re expecting to send out a large number of food parcels over the coming months - and they’re asking for the help of locals during that time.
A spokesperson said: “By supporting our foodbank this autumn, it helps us to prepare for what is predicted to be an incredibly busy winter period.
“We are expecting to give out more parcels than we did during the summer, with heating up the home and cooking hot meals being one of the main causes of financial hardship during the cold months.
“There are many ways to donate food, including our Amazon wish list, supermarket shop orders, drop-off points around Barnsley, or even by bringing them directly to our Wombwell warehouse.
“Please ensure that items are in-date and unopened.
“If you’d prefer to make a monetary donation, you can do so via cash, cheque, bank transfer, standing order and Gift Aid.
“We also have a Just Giving page, in which you can make a one-off donation, a monthly donation or set up a fundraising page.”
