Two further arrests have been made in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 41-year-old in Monk Bretton.

The incident yesterday (Sunday September 1) saw police called to an altercation between a group of men on Burton Road at 4.23pm.

A man was found with suspected stab wounds to the chest and pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people were arrested this morning on suspicion of murder, however police have arrested a further two people this afternoon.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon and assault, while a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and assault.

All five suspects remain in custody.
