AN annual fun run in memory of Penistone brothers Jack and Paul Sykes will take place on Sunday.
The two-kilometre run - which starts at Penistone Show Ground at 10.30am - covers footpaths and trails around the town.
It is set to raise much-needed funds for the Heads Together (Barnsley) Charitable Trust, which was set up in Jack and Paul’s memory after they died in a house fire deliberately started by their abusive father, Darren Sykes, in 2014.
It’s the seventh year running that Jack and Paul’s mum, Claire Throssell, has organised the event and this weekend’s marks the tenth anniversary of the boys’ passing.
Television presenter Christine Talbot will be joining Claire to start the race and hand out medals.
Claire said she is determined to make the event a fitting and colourful tribute to her boys.
She added: “The support I have had from the local community and local businesses is just fantastic and it means such a lot to be able to organise the fun run again this year in memory of Jack and Paul.
“We’re really hoping for a great turnout on the day.”
