A TEN-YEAR-OLD boy has been left with serious injuries following a hit-and-run in Brierley this week.
At 5.55pm on Tuesday, police were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Church Street.
Upon arrival they found the boy who had suffered injuries including a fractured cheekbone in the collision.
He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
The grey van driver drove away from the scene following the collision.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify the van and trace the driver.
A police spokesperson said: “We are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or captured the incident on dashcam to contact us.
“If you witnessed the collision, or have dashcam footage which could assist the investigation, please call 101 quoting incident number 792 of May 14 when you get in touch.
