A FESTIVE-themed tractor run through Penistone saw more than £3,000 raised for charity.
Organised by The Tractor Lads in association with the Dunford Residents’ Association, the event - which saw a collection of vintage and classic tractors drive through the town - took place on December 2.
People from across the country turned out, bringing their unique vehicles to show off to the people of Penistone, while raising £3,045 for the Gateway Club.
Member Andrew Lucas told the Chronicle: “It was absolutely fabulous.
“We set off at 4pm, and the town’s Christmas lights were switched on at 5pm.
“We travelled around the area and were told to get into town by 5.10pm, so Santa’s sleigh could get off the road.”
The Tractor Lads brought with them their own sleigh, which joined in with the 85 tractors that made an appearance.
“We really wanted to support a local charity.
“One of our members’ brothers used to attend the Gateway Club so it just felt right to fundraise in his memory.
“It went really well, now let’s bring on next year.”
