MORE than 2,000 suspensions were recorded at schools in Barnsley over the latest three-month period, new figures have revealed.
Between April and June, 2,001 suspensions were recorded at council-run schools.
It’s almost double the council target of 1,112.
Barnsley Council bosses have confirmed that they are working towards improving this figure.
A report said: “Improving inclusion and reducing suspension in schools continues to be a high priority.”
