Michael Duff is impressed by Jordan Williams’ recent goal-scoring form from right wing-back and believes the January signing of Barry Cotter may have spurred him on.
Williams has five goals this season including three in his last six games which makes him the Reds’ top-scorer in 2023. He got the last goal in a 4-0 win at Cheltenham on Saturday.
Cotter arrived in the transfer window from Irish club Shamrock Rovers and has so far come off the bench three times.
Duff told the Chronicle: “It’s impressive but I don’t think it’s surprising that we sign Barry Cotter and all of a sudden Jordan starts scoring.
“In the first half of the season, Jordan probably knew if he was fit he was playing. Now there is competition.
“It’s brilliant and a really well-worked goal.”
