A YOUNG boy has run 50km in his efforts to raise money for Sport Relief.
Last year nine-year-old Adam Gill swam ten miles in ten days, but this year decided to do something different, so instead ran ten bouts of five km to total 50km.
Since before Christmas Adam had his mind set on doing running, and since then his mum, Angela, has been training to take part with him.
She said: “We got a walking wheel and measured the distance around Notton as to how far we’d have to run.
“Adam’s already thinking about what he can do next year - he really does enjoy doing it and he’s really enthusiastic about it and it’s spurred me on to do it too. I’m really proud of him and he’s really proud of himself although he’ll play it all down and won’t go telling people what he’s done.”
Adam, of George Lane, has so far raised around £350 for charity and his hard work has earned him a nomination for this year’s Young Champions awards.
