PEOPLE living next to a 220-home development in Wombwell claim they have been plagued by constant dust, noise and privacy problems since work started 18 months ago.

The latest complaint is over the removal of a hedgerow which separate gardens on Barnsley Road with the Holly Bank development, which residents say they knew nothing about until workmen for Persimmon Homes started taking it down on Monday.

Persimmon said they did not need to tell residents about the work in advance as the hedge is on their land.

Resident Sue Kaye said she doesn’t understand why the hedges have been removed when the homes had not yet been completed.
