Austin and Rory Hardy were born last April and spent 99 days in hospital. They weighed just one pound, 15 ounces when they were born 14 weeks early and fought for their lives while being helped to breathe in incubators.
Their parents Kelly and Ashley never expected to take them home. But they were little fighters and, after 66 days at the neonatal unit at the Jessop Wing in the Hallamshire Hospital and a further 33 at Barnsley Hospital, Kelly and the boys were finally able to go home.
Kelly, 28, of Hoyland, said: “I can’t explain how small they were, I think it’s something that you can’t possibly comprehend until you see it.”
