BARNSLEY MP Dan Jarvis is putting his best foot forward to raise money for the Barnsley Hospice - by running the London marathon.

This will be the seventh time Mr Jarvis has run the marathon, which takes place on April 23.

In the past he has supported Cancer Research UK, but said he felt he needed to do his bit for the hospice.

He said: “It is such a fantastic charity. I’ve had so many contacts with people recently who have been supported or looked after or their family members have been looked after so well.

“The staff do such an amazing job, that I just wanted to lend my support this year.”
