BARNSLEY’S MPs will not try and overturn the result of the EU referendum should Parliament have to vote on the process to trigger ‘Brexit’, the Chronicle can reveal.

MPs Dan Jarvis and Michael Dugher both backed the remain campaign during the referendum lobbying in the summer.

However following yesterday’s High Court decision that Parliament must take a vote on whether the UK can start the process of leaving the EU, both Barnsley Central MP Mr Jarvis and Barnsley East MP Mr Dugher said they would vote ‘for Brexit’ if the vote went ahead - because that was the view of Barnsley voters in the referendum.
