COMEDY folk band the Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican will play one of the country’s biggest festivals this summer.
The band have been announced on the line-up of Glastonbury Festival.
They will play at the festival’s Avalon Stage at 12.30pm on Sunday June 30.
“It’s the big festival that everyone wants to do,” announced singer Scott Doonican in a video uploaded to YouTube. “But it’s finally time for the Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican to come to Glastonbury.”
Scott promised singalongs, dancing, more dancing, more singalongs and potentially some laughs.
Festival season promises to be busy for the popular band, self-ascribed as the most hard-working comedy band in Yorkshire.
They have also put together their own festival, Doonifest - which sold out its second day more than a year in advance - to take place on Friday October 11 and Saturday October 12 at the Old School House, off Summer Lane.
The band’s appearance at Glastonbury will double up as the launch party for their tenth album Place of Spades.
The Bar-Steward Sons will also play at the Underneath the Stars festival in Cawthorne on August 3.
