A CUDWORTH headteacher who transformed a failing primary school into an outstanding one has retired.
Diane Flanagan, who took control of Cherry Dale in 1999, stepped down from her post at the end of term last Friday.
The 61-year-old joined the Royston Road school when it was in special measures - Ofsted’s lowest rating - but turned its fortunes around to the point where it was rated as outstanding at its last inspection in 2014.
