A GOLDTHORPE man who police believe was robbed and murdered in his own home has been described as a ‘nice but quiet man’ by those who knew him.

Andrew Kelly, 51, was discovered dead at a property on Victoria Street on Wednesday December 2.

An initial post mortem examination have proved to be inconclusive and although further tests are still being carried out, the incident is now being treated as a murder by South Yorkshire Police.

Goldthorpe residents believed that Mr Kelly was originally from Scotland and described him as a ‘nice but quiet’ man.
