A MAN who discovered he had a brain tumour after coming back from his honeymoon has organised a 24-hour football match to raise funds for the hospital that treats him.

Craig Nettleship was diagnosed in August last year. He was 28 and had only just come back from honeymoon in the Maldives with new wife Claire.

His tumour filled almost a quarter of his head but Craig had no obvious symptoms. He only went to the doctor because of a strange ringing in his ears.

A scan revealed the tumour - a fast-growing intracranial neoplasm - and Craig was taken straight into hospital.

Craig, who has played football all his life, has now organised the 24-hour five-a-side football match on June 26 at Concord sports centre in Sheffield.
