Clothes designer Kelly-Ann Garforth is featured in July’s ‘Beach chic’ section of the famous fashion magazine.
The 23-year-old, from Royston, said it was a dream come true to be in a magazine renowned for its celebrity covers.
“I have been buying it for ten years so to be featured in it means I’ve achieved one of my dreams,” she said.
“I have never met anyone in Barnsley who has been in Vogue before. I’m really excited. Even if you are not into fashion or don’t really like it, everybody knows what Vogue is.”
Kelly, who runs swimwear and fashion label Klue from the Grove, Royston, said she was approached by the magazine following her appearance at the Alternative Fashion Week in London.
She organised another fashion shoot with Barnsley model Lauren Satur and hairdresser Victoria Myers, of EV Boutique, Royal Street, Barnsley, and sent them the pictures to choose from.
“I knew there would be other beach swimwear that would be amazing so wanted to get it perfect and I was really pleased with the results.
“It’s nice for the people I work with who have been with me from the start that they have got to be involved in it too.”
She was also pleased when one of her costumes made a television debut when Billi Mucklow wore it in The Only Way is Essex.
“She was just laid there in my swimwear. They were in Marbella so everything was really glamorous.
“I’ve had loads of people tweeting me saying she was wearing it. It was really exciting.”
