PAUL Harper will be hoping the drama of Albert Square won’t rear its head at the Queen Victoria in Darfield when the pub celebrate Eastenders’ 40th anniversary next week.

As part of the iconic BBC show’s anniversary celebrations, Queen Victoria-named pubs - in homage to the boozer on the square - up and down the country will be taking part in BBC Radio’s The Late Show.

Paul is the owner of the Darfield pub - and he’s looking forward to showcase the village on Tuesday.

He told the Chronicle: “As part of the celebrations The Late Show is visiting Queen Victoria pubs and down the country.

“We’ve been selected to take part. It’s exciting.

“We’ve known about it for a while but it’s finally coming to fruition.”

The pub will be used to pre-record interviews with locals and community groups from 4pm before the show starts at 10pm.

And Paul is hoping that it’ll help put Darfield on the map.

“I’ve involved most of the community with this,” he added.

“We’ve got a band coming down to do a recording and local businesses and people coming down.”
