SOME of the biggest names in snooker were back at the Metrodome this week.
The Barnsley venue hosted the Welsh Open qualifiers from Tuesday until Thursday.
Those playing included former world champions Graeme Dott and Ken Doherty as well as former world championship finalists Jimmy White and Matthew Stevens.
No spectators were allowed at the behind-closed doors event.
The Metrodome had been a regular venue on the World Snooker calendar, hosting the English Championship in 2017 which Ronnie O’Sullivan won.
After a break during the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been at least one event in Barnsley in each of the last three years – sometimes in front of fans and sometimes not.
