BOSSES behind striking plans to transform an area of the town centre unveiled its proposed new look to the public at a consultation event.
The first phase of the work at The Seam on County Way could begin as soon as the summer and includes a sprawling urban park.
Subject to planning, phase two will look to further develop the Upper Seam car park which includes a third Digital Media Centre, a high-end hotel and a ‘National Centre for Digital Technologies’.
A public drop-in event was held at Library @ the Lightbox on Wednesday and a second, at the Digital Media Centre, will take place today.
Staff from the council and constructors Willmott Dixon showcase the plans and answered questions.
Council leader Sir Steve Houghton said: “This is an exciting project for the town centre and it’s essential that people have their say on it to help shape the proposals.”
