BARNSLEY head coach Darrell Clarke said there's 'loads of positives' to take from Saturday's 3-0 home win against Crawley Town - but admits his side need to cut out the 'sloppiness'.

The Reds recorded back to back home wins for the first time since February 2024 on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Jon Russell, Max Watters and Davis Keillor-Dunn secured the three points for the Reds.

Clarke said: "The performance for 65/70 minutes was fantastic.

"We had a lot of chances and should probably have finished off more of those chances.

"I'm gonna cut the boys a bit of slack.

"There's a lot of reasons we may have lost that flow in the last 20 minutes.

"Ben's had to pull a couple of saves off."

The result leaves Barnsley 5th in the League One table, having won each of the last four games.

"Four wins from four is a great achievement," Clarke added.

"Four games in ten days is absolutely ridiculous.

"I don't understand it - I don't get it.

"But twelve points we're really pleased with.

"I thought we were really strong first half.

"We just needed to be a bit more composed in the final third to create more chances.

"We said to the boys at half time that we need to start bright and we wanted to put the game to bed.

"We did that to a certain extent and then got sloppy."

But despite the sloppiness at times, Clarke said he was happy with the performance on a whole.

"We want to win games, we want to score goals, we want to entertain - but also I don't want us to be sloppy," he added.

"It should have been a more comfortable afternoon than it was.

"But 3-0, back to back home wins, it's a great start to 2025."
