BARNSLEY Football Club’s charity wing has backed a campaign which aims to support new parents with their concerns.
ICON is a programme adopted by health and social care organisations in the UK to provide information about infant crying.
This year’s ICON Week - which runs until today - is once again focusing on sharing ideas and best practices.
The Barnsley FC Community Trust has backed the campaign and is urging locals to learn more about the signs that new parents may be struggling.
Dr Amy Baxter, senior public health practitioner, said: “Having the players involved in delivering the ICON message - babies cry, you can cope - will therefore enhance the impact of the campaign across the borough and help promote better outcomes for local families.”
Amy Milne, of the community trust, added: “It has been a privilege to work with Sharon Tyne and Amy to be able to support such a meaningful cause.
“I would like to extend our thanks to Barnsley FC players Corey O’Keeffe, Kyran Lofthouse, Georgie Gent and Aiden Marsh for taking part.
“We hope that this makes a real impact in supporting the campaign throughout the borough and the wider community.”
