DARRELL Clarke says ‘quality player’ Conor Hourihane will be ‘available when we need him’ as he gets to grips with his player/coach role.
The Irish midfielder returned to Oakwell this summer more than seven years after his extremely successful first spell ended.
He made his first appearance of the summer in the friendly win at Accrington on Saturday, assisting the opening goal from a corner.
Clarke told the Chronicle: “Conor is a quality player. He’s enjoying it. We’re trying to get that balance. We’re making sure he gets enough training minutes because he’s got quality as you can see.
“We have a plan in place to keep him at the right level so that he’s always available when we need him.”
