ARRON Lilley rescued Hoylandswaine with a rapid century as they chased 239 at Almondbury Wesleyans in the Sykes Cup.

Lilley - who played for Leicestershire and Lancashire - hit nine sixes and seven fours in his 118 off 83 balls.

J Seddon cleared the ropes five times in his 74 off 59 balls, as Swaine recovered from 24 for four.

Abdul Ameer had taken three wickets.

Hoylandswaine had suffered their first league defeat of the season, at home to Delph and Dobcross.

Swaine were dismissed for 113 in a seven-wicket loss.

Hoylandswaine 2nd XI chased 193 with four wickets and one ball left at Mirfield 2nd XI.

Don Bandula took four wickets then M Higgins (50) and Jack Lockwood (61) secured the win.
