FOR his 16th birthday a boxing enthusiast chose to give back by spending the day skydiving for charity.

Max Emeny turned 16 last Sunday, travelling down to Lincolnshire for the daring fundraiser.

The money raised will go to funding a trip for Max’s fellow Combat Academy pupils to attend a kickboxing tournament in Vienna, Austria, later in the year.

His mum, Stephanie Rowett, said: “Max wanted to do a skydive for his birthday because he’s bonkers.

“Every single penny raised will go towards supporting our local lads and lasses get this amazing opportunity to fly out and represent their country as part of Team England.

“They work so hard all year round training endless hours and eating clean and sometimes missing out on things, all for the love of their sport.

“We don’t want anyone selected to miss out for financial reasons.”

The fundraiser is still open, with £430 raised so far.

“I’m so proud of Max and what he’s achieving,” Stephanie added.

“His mindset is just phenomenal for a lad of his age.

“A lot of it I put down to his involvement with the Combat Academy where he has trained for the last 11 years.”
