A DRAGON boat race in aid of Sheffield Children’s Hospital took place last weekend.
Held on Sunday at Manvers Lake, hundreds of locals flocked to the event to raise funds for the hospital.
More than £10,000 has been raised to date - much to the delight of the organisers.
Over 100 people took part in the boat racing itself - with ‘Team Nick’ coming out victorious.
A spokesperson for Sheffield Children’s Hospital said: “We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us for the first-ever Theo’s Dragon Boat Race.
“It’s been a brilliant day in the sunshine, full of costumes, comradery and competition.
“From hospital staff to community groups, and from families to corporate colleagues every team helped to make today incredibly special.
“Over 100 of you paddled your way to pounds.
“So far we have raised over £10,000 and this is still rising.
“Thank you to everyone who made the event possible, including Manvers Lake Events, our media partner LensGo Visual Media, our food vendors Sophie’s Cake and Coffee and Bears Street Food and our brilliant volunteers.”
