A LOCAL taxi firm want to raise thousands of pounds for Barnsley Hospice through their accumulator challenge.
The scheme will see 19 Barnsley businesses join together to raise funds for the hospice - and Veezu has pledged to contribute a portion of their fares from every ride taken within the last two weeks of March within the Barnsley area.
Over the past six years, the hospice’s annual event has raised over £80,000.
Emma Atkinson, regional booking centre manager at Veezu, said: “We are thrilled to be able to take part in the accumulator challenge for the second year running to support the exceptional work of Barnsley Hospice.
“Not only is the challenge a fantastic way for the community to come together and raise money for a wonderful cause, but it also provides Veezu with the opportunity to continue supporting City Taxis’ 2023 Charity of the Year.”
Simon Atkinson, corporate partnership manager at Barnsley Hospice, added: “We’re delighted Veezu is taking part in our accumulator challenge once again, and we can’t wait to see what the team has planned.( “This year marks the hospice’s 30th anniversary, and our thanks go to the Veezu team for helping us to celebrate the occasion and raise vital funds.
“We have a feeling it might just be our best accumulator challenge yet.”
