KIDS at a Hemingfield school have had a visitor they could REALLY look up to...

Former Harlem Globetrotter Paul Sturgess dropped by this week and at 7ft 7ins, he hardly went unnoticed.

Paul spoke with pupils at The Ellis Church of England School as part of an enrichment day.

Nicknamed ‘Tiny’ the Leicestershire man is the tallest to have ever worn the famous Globetrotters’ vest and also played professionally in the UK and the USA before becoming a motivational speaker.

Year three teacher and PE and wider curriculum lead Nicola Cook, said: “Every term activities are put on or inspiring athletes are invited into school to give the children a broad range of experiences in many sports which they may not have tried before.

“Children have tried taekwondo, dance, military-style fitness and team building, football freestyling and climbing in the last couple of years.

“These enrichment days are free to the children and paid for out of our sports premium grant.

“Paul spoke in assembly to the children and also spent time in each class doing a workshop.”
