BARNSLEY RUFC suffered a sixth defeat from six games this season and are now due to host Yorkshire League Three leaders Northallerton on Saturday.
The Shaw Laners lost 19-10 at Halifax so are bottom with two points from six games.
Northallerton have won all their matches so far.
Wath won 39-35 at Yarnbury in a top-of-the-table clash in Yorkshire League Two. Wath have won all six games and are nine points clear of second-placed Yarnbury. They are due to host ninth-placed Hemsworth on Saturday.
Barnsley Ladies lost 20-10 at home to Sale in Championship North.
They are now seventh with one win and three losses from their four games.
Barnsley do not play again until October 28.
