A BARNSLEY couple who have celebrated 60 years of marriage still have the original decoration bought for their wedding cake all those years ago.
Elva and Fred Gillott, of Issott Street, Honeywell, marked their diamond wedding anniversary on March 9.
Elva said: “We’ve still got the original top of the cake, which is a church spire. It’s been on the silver wedding cake, the ruby wedding cake and now this 60th.
“It’s been in the same box it was bought in. I can’t remember how much it was but I do remember getting in from a shop at the bottom of the Arcade.”
