FLY-TIPPING described as the ‘worst case in the borough’ has been cleared up by Barnsley Council.
Baths, toilets, sofas, cabinets, mattresses, drawers, kids’ toys, tyres and bags of rubbish have been strewn across a dead-end road in Shafton, off the A628 roundabout, for more than a year.
But the Chronicle can reveal the waste was removed last Friday by the council’s officers after widespread calls were made by local residents and Shafton Parish Council for them to step in.
