A CHEF from Barnsley has become the youngest head chef in all of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants.
George Lyon, originally from Staincross, had worked as sous chef at London House in Battersea since it opened in 2014 and has now been appointed head chef there, though he has worked for Gordon Ramsay Group since 2011.
George, 24, who now lives in London, said: “I was quite overwhelmed. I had a five-year-plan and that was to be sous chef. To be told I would be head chef within five years at such a young age is a really great achievement.
“There are more roles within the company, executive head chef positions and more senior management roles which I would be interested in. I’m really happy with the company and will see how far it takes me.”
