BARNSLEY Council is moving quickly to sell on the site of Goldthorpe Primary School.
The site, on Doncaster Road, which is still in use, has been listed on website Rightmove for sale by the council which will be receiving offers until next Friday.
Coun Roy Miller, cabinet spokesman, believes the site’s location, in the centre of Goldthorpe, lends itself to a retail development.
The plot is going to become surplus as of next year and with that in mind the council have been receiving informal tenders to buy the site upon its closure.
