A group trying to save part of Grimethorpe's history is calling on local residents to get behind the campaign to salvage the village's oldest building - before it's too late.
Grimethorpe Hall is a grade two double star listed building which was built in 1670. The hall has stood neglected, derelict, and deteriorating for decades, but a group now hopes that this will soon change. Member of the group John Hardman feels strongly about trying to save the hall.
John said: "I've always thought it was a real shame that the building was in such a state, but then we started with this in September last year, and since then have been building up the website, to try and get people to sign a petition to save the building.
"We have been in contact with local councillors, and English Heritage to try and make progress but it is a very slow process. We set up the Save Grimethorpe Hall Facebook page about two weeks ago and it has helped us a lot."
