ONLINE sensation Harley Charlesworth hit 20 million YouTube views recently and is also helping Brazilian youngsters learn English potentially with a Barnsley accent.

Harley, who will be six later this month, has almost 130,000 subscribers for his unique brand of children’s horror videos, which he uploads to his channel ‘Harley’s World’.

The King’s Oak Primary pupil makes the videos with his dad and producer, Kieran, who is a professional photographer.

Kieran uses his technical skills to help Harley record videos, where the two go on adventures seeking children’s characters who they pretend are hidden around Barnsley.

Kieran said: “It’s all going really well - we have been working with some local businesses and we’re really enjoying it.

“We have also made some different kinds of videos we recently went to GoApe and filmed his day there.

“Harley doesn’t have any idea how popular they are but he loves that some of the older pupils at school come up to him and say that they watch him on YouTube.”

Harley has a big fanbase in Brazil and Kieran has been contacted by parents who are using Harley’s videos to teach their youngsters to speak English.

“It’s great and crazy to think that there may be Brazilian kids speaking English with a Barnsley accent thanks to Harley.”

The family moved to Royston last year and they are currently converting a spare room into a studio and filming area for the youngster with hopes that they can take Harley’s work to the next level next year.

“Harley is really enjoying it and he’s making some money so it’s all good. I’m hoping that by Christmas I can dedicate myself to it full-time so I’ll be working for my son,” said Kieran.

Harley has been nominated for a Young Champions award in recognition of his achievements so far.
