Georgie Gent’s injury from the weekend is being assessed but his fellow left wing-back Neil Farrugia is fit to return to the Barnsley team at Charlton Athletic tomorrow evening.

Gent limped off late on in Saturday’s 4-3 win over Lincoln City – having scored his first goal for the club. Head coach Darrell Clarke told the Chronicle: “Obviously he came off injured. He’s getting assessed today and we will know more after the game.”

Striker Stephen Humphrys also limped off, but Clarke would not give any more details at this point.

Farrugia – who had been the first choice left wing-back in recent weeks – is ready to return after missing the weekend’s match with an injury.

Meanwhile, captain Luca Connell is set to return following a two-game ban for collecting ten bookings.

Clarke said: “It’s a big boost that Luca is back. Games are coming thick and fast. This is the fourth game in ten games so getting our skipper back is a massive plus for the squad.”

Donovan Pines, Jonathan Lewis, Fabio Jalo, Joe Gauci and Barry Cotter are all recovering from longer-term injuries.

Striker Davis Keillor-Dunn netted his 14th goal of the season on Saturday. Clarke said: “Davo is in tremendous form, as is Humphs. He (Humphrys) might not have got a goal but was involved in a lot of goals in the last two games and he is doing a really good job for the team. With Max (Watters) getting more minutes and fitness under his belt and Clement (Rodrigues) settling in at the football club, our attacking options are looking a lot better.”

Adam Phillips scored his tenth goal of the season, the third straight campaign in which he has reached double figures from midfield.

Clarke said: “Phillo is a great goal-scoring midfielder. I think he will get better with his performances. His missus had a baby and it’s always a little bit of a testing time at home. He missed a fair bit of training a couple of weeks ago but he’s come through the games very well. We gave him a bit of breather coming off a little bit early on Saturday and he should be fresh for Tuesday.”
