PAMELA Watson says she can one up Raymond Horsley - who has lived in the same house for 70 years - and she even lives on the same street.
Last week, the Chronicle reported that 95-year-old Raymond, who moved into his house on Rufford Avenue in July 1954, could stake a claim to being the longest-serving resident across the whole town.
But after reading the article, 74-year-old Pamela says she’s lived in the same house on the same street for even longer than Raymond.
“I have been here since Easter in 1954,” she said.
“Houses 14, 16 and 18 were the first houses that were built on this street.
“We didn’t have any roads or anything like that.
“I know Raymond but I’ve been here a little bit longer.”
Pamela’s parents initially owned the house, which she has lived in since she was four, but she then took it over and has lived there ever since.
“It’s one of the only homes I’ve lived in,” she added.
“I’ve never moved away and came back or anything like that.
“It’s a quiet area and I really like it here.”
