BARNSLEY FC sold 7,833 season tickets during the ‘early bird’ period.

That is 130 down on last season, amid the disappointing end to campaign and the head coach search.

Chief executive Jon Flatman told the club website: “We are extremely grateful for the continued loyalty shown by our incredible fanbase.

“The noise and atmosphere that Oakwell can generate is truly special, and we have witnessed this on many occasions over the years.

“Our season ticket offers exceptional value for money and is amongst the most affordable in the EFL.

“There is a lot of excitement for the new campaign following the appointment of Darrell Clarke as our head coach, and we are hopeful that our season ticket sales will continue to rise before we get underway in August.”
