A LARGE motorbike procession for a loving father - who lost his life in a daylight stabbing earlier this month - has been organised in his honour.

Alan ‘Algi’ Sutton’s funeral will take place on October 21, which will include a motorbike procession through town by the Wombwell Dragons MCC to honour their former member.

The procession will begin at 11.15am, starting at Castlereagh Street in town with bikers following Algi’s hearse to Barnsley Crematorium for the service at 12.10pm.

An avid biker, Algi was a member of the Proud of Barnsley-winning club for years, where he took part in a variety of fundraising activities alongside his dad, also named Alan.

Following a stabbing in Monk Bretton on September 1, Alan died, leaving behind his ‘soulmate’ Diana Shepherd and two children, Rhys, 23, and six-year-old Harley.
