Barnsley broke two club records with a 3-1 win at lowly Burton Albion on Easter Monday.
The Reds have set a club record for the longest unbeaten away league run in one season, 11 games.
They have also set a club record for most away points, 42, and equalled the club record for most away wins with 12.
The hosts led at half-time, with chants from some of the sold-out away end for Neill Collins to be sacked.
But half-time substitute John McAtee netted twice just after the break then Luca Connell made it three goals in 16 minutes.
Barnsley remain fifth, seven points off the top two and seven clear in the top six.
Neill Collins made three changes from the team which lost to Cambridge on Friday. Adam Phillips, John McAtee and Devante Cole all dropped to the bench with Phillips and McAtee understood to have been unwell in the build-up.
Jon Russell, Sam Cosgrove and Corey O’Keeffe all came back into the starting line-up.
The Reds switched from their usual 3-5-2 formation to 4-5-1 with O’Keeffe and Nicky Cadden the wide midfielders while Jordan Williams and Josh Earl were full-backs in a back four.
Cosgrove had a big chance in the fourth minute after he was put through by O’Keeffe’s header but his first shot was blocked by a defender and his second sliced wide.
At the other end, Liam Roberts tipped over a 20-yard shot from Mason Bennett after a good run then, from the resulting corner, John Brayford’s hooked effort landed on the roof of the net.
O’Keeffe then diverted a wayward Russell shot straight to the goalkeeper after good work on the left by Cadden and Luca Connell.
Russell headed over from an O’Keeffe free-kick then, at the other end, Joe Hugill was put clean through amid calls of offside but dragged a shot wide of the bottom left corner. Hugill also shot just over from 25 yards.
Cosgrove then impressively chested down a long ball from Jamie McCart and went clean through but tried to knock the ball around the goalkeeper but it went out.
The opener saw Connell lose the ball to Rekeem Harper just inside his half then Joe Powell collected the ball and fired into the bottom left corner from just outside the box.
Collins, after a lengthy chat in the dugout with seven members of staff, brought on Phillips and McAtee at half-time for Kane and O’Keeffe, with Barnsley returning to 3-5-2.
McAtee levelled on 53 minutes. Connell’s cross from the left flicked the head of Cosgrove then was headed onto the post by Phillips before McAtee smashed home the loose ball.
Burton almost regained the lead minutes later when Brayford appeared to touch wide after a scramble following a left-wing corner.
McAtee got his second when he was played through by Cosgrove and, after the goalkeeper Max Crocombe ran out of his box, he passed the ball into the bottom right corner.
Connell then added a third, with his first goal of the season, as a long ball was headed by a defender straight to him and he found the bottom right corner from just outside the box.
