THE boxing season will heat up again in the coming weeks after its usual winter lay-off.
Barnsley professionals Dempsey Wale, Danny Hall and Alex Taylor all have fight dates pencilled in.
Brampton’s Wale, younger brother of former British champion Josh, is set to headline at the Metrodome on the Outlaw Promotions bill on March 17. His opponent is yet to be confirmed but it is expected to be foreign opposition.
He will be looking for more experience as he bids to become 9-0 as a professional.
Hall, from Grimethorpe, is also set to feature on the same bill. The Carl Greaves-managed prospect is currently three unbeaten in the paid ranks.
It is set to be a busy show with Wale’s other prospects, brothers Redwan Nishat and Burhan Nishat, Ryan Rose and Paul Clewes also set to feature.
Darfield’s ‘Gypsy Prince’ Taylor continues his professional journey at the OEC in Sheffield on March 5. Taylor has managed two wins from two thus far but is hoping to be more active in 2023.
The town’s other active professional Callum Simpson (left) had a busy Christmas and New Year period as he helped prepare Artur Beterbiev in sparring over in Canada.
It proved a fruitful trip with town centre fighter Simpson learning from one of the world’s best, before the Russian defeated Anthony Yarde in what is being deemed a very early ‘fight of the year’ contender.
The Wale family stable are also bringing amateur boxing back to the Metrodome on February 21. Tickets will be available on the night.
