ELSECAR Park’s play area has gone smoke-free in a move intended to maintain its reputation as one the best in the country.

The park is the second in Barnsley to introduce the ban on smoking, following Locke Park, though the decision for Elsecar was taken first.

Signs have now gone up to make park users aware of the request to refrain from smoking, which is designed to improve the health of both children and adults.
