A BLIZZARD of confetti and balloons filled the air to mark the opening of Barnsley’s new May Day Green Market.
The Mayor Coun Linda Burgess cut the ribbon and declared the market well and truly open.
Coun Burgess said: “It was a delight to open the new market. It is a bright, spacious and warm addition to the town centre. If this is only temporary, I look forward to the opening of the new permanent market and library.”
