A FORMER Barnsley soldier whose war medals went missing 13 years ago is battling to get them returned after they turned up in a museum.
Ian Bostock, 44, served in the Light Infantry for 24 years and received four medals for active service in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, the former Yugoslavia and Kosovo.
He last saw them in 2002 when he sent them away to a regimental tailor to be mounted so he could wear them.
“I wanted to pass them down to my children, and I’ve had replacements made but it’s not like the real thing.”
